December Newsletter

We have so much happening this month and very little time to fit everything in! I hope you’re ready for a busy few weeks!

Important Dates to Remember

  • Bethlehem Preschool Fun Day will take place on Friday, December 6 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. For minimum contribution of $40 per child, we will offer crafts, fun, games and play as teachers donate their time for this preschool fundraiser. Sign up using the QR code on the posters you see around the school.

  • Bethlehem Preschool Class Parties will take place on Tuesday, December 10. Each teacher determines what time this event will take place in her classroom. If you haven’t already received class-specific information, you will soon receive communication from your teacher and/or class Room Parent.

  • Polar Express and Pajama Day for our 3-day program will be Wednesday, December 11. Please send your child to school in their pajamas; we will enjoy the Polar Express movie and have a special snack at the end of the day. Miss Samantha’s class will watch a different movie; she will communicate more about her plans with her class.

  • The Bethlehem Preschool Christmas Program will take place in the church sanctuary at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 12. You will drop your child off as usual at 9:30 a.m. that morning. When the program concludes, you will take your child home with you. Bethlehem Preschool will close for the holiday break after the Christmas program ends on Thursday, December 12. Bethlehem Preschool will reopen on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 for all students.

  • Breakfast with St. Nick will take place on Saturday, December 14, from 9:30 a.m. – 11:00 a.m. in the Banquet Hall. There will be crafts, games, food and fun for everyone! As well as St. Nick!

  • Bethlehem United Methodist Church will hold a family-friendly candlelight Christmas Eve service at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, December 24, in the church sanctuary. All children are welcome to participate in the re-telling of the birth story. Please arrive by 4:15 p.m. to be directed to the Old Sanctuary to get into costumes.

Important Reminders

  • Substitute Teachers are needed at Bethlehem Preschool. The process to become a sub is very easy! The first step involves being fingerprinted, which is a DHS requirement. Once we receive approval of the background check, you are added to our list. Should a classroom teacher be unable to come to work, the teacher assistant moves into the classroom and our sub is the teacher assistant. Each teacher assistant has prepared a detailed schedule and plan for the day, so as a sub, you would know exactly what to do. If you are interested in becoming a sub, please contact Kim and she will provide you with information as to how to get the process started.

  • Please remember to send a “winter weather” change of clothes for your child, if you haven’t already done so. Also, please send your child to school with a coat, hat, mittens and anything else he or she may need to stay warm, as we will try to spend our recess time outside on the playground.

  • Please check out our website (www.bethlehempreschool.net); like our Facebook page; and follow us on Instagram (bump2419) by clicking the icons below! This is a great way to keep up with important news and updates.

As always please feel free to contact me with any questions, comments or concerns you may have. Thank you for your continued support of Bethlehem Preschool!
